ABOUT THE SCHOLARSHIP PROVIDER – EMET

Energy Mobility Education Trust Scholarship South Africa | The Energy Mobility Education Trust was founded in 2014 by bpSA as the BPSA Education Foundation Trust, but over the years the Trust has evolved and grown, ultimately shaping its identity into the Energy Mobility Education Trust.

The aim of the Trust is to help young black South Africans realise their dreams, by facilitating access to education, skills development and formal qualifications.

The Energy Mobility Education Trust is inviting students to apply for their scholarship programme, for the 2023 academic year..

Scholarships will be awarded for undergraduate and postgraduate studies, within these fields, at selected institutions:

Accounting
Actuarial Science
Computer Science
Engineering
Information Science
Mathematical Science
Science
Statistical Science
Technology

MORE ABOUT THE EMET SCHOLARSHIP PROGRAMME – EXPENSES COVERED

The scholarship will provide cover for the following expenses: tuition fees, learning resources (textbooks and a laptop), accommodation, meals and a stipend.

Scholars will also receive student support, mentoring and guidance in order to have the best possible
chance of realizing their dreams.

ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS FOR THE EMET SCHOLARSHIP

Applicants must satisfy the following minimum entry criteria before applying (please note that failure to satisfy all the requirements will lead to your application not being considered):

You must be a South African citizen
You must be 40 years old or younger
You must be Black, as defined by the B-BBEE Act
You must be studying towards a qualification within one of the fields listed above
You must be in your 3rd or final year of undergraduate study, or pursuing Honours, Master or PhD studies
You must be studying at one of the Trust’s current scholarship partner universities: the University of the Witwatersrand (WITS), the University of Johannesburg (UJ), the University of Pretoria (UP) or the University of Fort Hare (UFH)
You must have a total household income of NOT more than R600 000 per annum
