  • Scholarship Value: Covers up to R300,000, including registration fees, tuition fees, and books or related study materials at accredited South African arts institutions.

  • Programme Duration: Bi-weekly workshops are scheduled from June 7 to August 16, 2025. The Scholarship Finals Week will be held in Johannesburg from September 28 to October 5, 2025, with the Exhibition Event on October 2 and the Gala Night on October 4, 2025.

  • Eligibility Criteria:

    • South African citizens aged between 17 and 25 years.
    • Currently in Grade 12 or have completed Grade 12 with university exemption.
    • Intend to pursue an undergraduate qualification in performing or visual arts, starting in 2026.
    • Require financial assistance for tertiary studies.
    • Not currently registered at a tertiary institution for the 2025 academic year.
    • Not have an existing tertiary qualification in an arts/creative discipline.
    • Not considered a professional artist (i.e., no specialized training or full-time employment in the artistic discipline).
    • Willing and able to commit to the six-month duration of the programme.
    • Not a previous participant or finalist of the ACT Nyoloha Scholarship Programme.
  • Application Requirements:

    • Completed online application form.
    • Certified copy of ID (front and back).
    • Latest academic results.
    • Signed consent form.
    • Headshot photograph.
    • For Performing Arts applicants: A two-minute audition video (singing, dance, or acting).
    • For Visual Arts applicants: Four original portfolio pieces, including specific categories, and artist statements.
  • Application Deadline: March 30, 2025. Late applications will not be accepted.

  • Application Portal: Applications must be submitted online through the official ACT Nyoloha Scholarship Application portal.
