ABOUT THE COMPANY – RCL FOODS

RCL Foods was founded in 1960, originally as Rainbow Chicken Ltd. Today, the consumer goods and milling company is majority-owned by Remgro, a South African investment firm. The company is one of the top food producers, not only in South Africa but also in Namibia; Botswana; Swaziland; Zambia and Uganda. RCL Foods manufacture a wide portfolio of well known private label and branded food brands, including non-perishable food items; poultry and pet foods.

In 2015, the company changed its operating structure from its 4 prior subsidiaries (Rainbow, Foodcorp, Vector and TSB) to 3 business divisions. The business divisions now include the Consumer Division (which includes Rainbow, Grocery, Pie, Beverage and Speciality), the Sugar | Milling Division (which includes TSB, Epol and the Milling and Baking divisions) and the Logistics Division (which includes Vector Logistics for sales and logistics service)
 

ABOUT THE BURSARY PROGRAMME – FIELDS COVERED | OTHER OPPORTUNITIES

RCL Foods are looking for highly motivated and enthusiastic students to enrol in their Bursary Scheme. Once students have completed their studies, they will also be given the opportunity to take up employment at RCL Foods.

 

Bursaries will be awarded within the following fields of study:

  • Accounting
  • Chemical Engineering
  • Mechanical Engineering

ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS

Applicants must satisfy the following minimum entry criteria before applying (please note that failure to satisfy all the requirements will lead to your application not being considered):

  • South African citizen
  • Completed Matric
  • Obtained a minimum overall average of 65% in Matric OR currently studying at a tertiary institution with a minimum overall average of 65%
  • Studying or intend on studying full-time in one of the aforementioned fields of study
  • Studying or intend on studying at a registered Tertiary Institution in South Africa
  • Good academic record
  • Strong communication skills
  • Good analytical skills
