ABOUT THE COMPANY – W|RSETA
The Wholesale and Retail Sector Education and Training Authority (W|RSETA) is a public organisation, formed to encourage skill development in the Wholesale and Retail sector by way of grants, bursaries, training and learnerships. In 2011, the W|RSETA Bursary Scheme was born, with the aim of providing financial help to students studying wholesale and retail qualifications.
The W|RSETA’s aim is to become South Africa’s leader in skills development. They aim to do this by helping students develop their capabilities, skills, competencies and the professional workforce in order to better the wholesale and retail sector.
W|RSETA is just one out of 21 SETA within South Africa.
ABOUT THE BURSARY PROGRAMME – FIELDS COVERED | COVERAGE VALUE
W|RSETA will be awarding 2000 bursaries to new unemployed TVET students and 1000 bursaries to new unemployed HET students.
The bursary programme is open to students who are studying (or intend to study) within the Wholesale and Retail Sector Scarce Skills, particularly the following fields:
HETI UNIVERSITY PROGRAMMES (Degrees/ Diplomas):

- Food Technology/ Nutrition Technology
- Financial Management
- Information Technology
- Computer Science
- Logistics Management
- Purchasing Management
- Retail Business Management
- Retail Marketing
- Sales and Marketing Management
- Supply Chain Management
NATED PROGRAMMES TVET (N4 – N6):
- Business Management
- Clothing Production
- Financial Management
- Hospitality and Catering Services
- Human Resource Management
- Management Assistant
- Marketing Management
NCV PROGRAMMES (LEVEL 2 – LEVEL 4):
- Accounting, Economics | Finance
- Hospitality
- Information Technology
- Computer Science
- Office Administration
- Marketing
- Transport and Logistics

The following expenses will be covered by the bursary programme: tuition fees, prescribed books, meals and accommodation.
ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS
Applicants must satisfy the following minimum entry criteria before applying (please note that failure to satisfy all the requirements will lead to your application not being considered):
- South African citizen
- Have registered OR have been accepted to study at a recognised tertiary institution (University/ University of Technology/ TVET College) in South Africa
- Studying (or intend on studying) full-time in one of the aforementioned fields
- Do NOT have any other sources of funding for your studies

Download and complete the WRSETA TVET Bursary Application Form (word doc)
Completed application forms (and supporting documentation) must be emailed to Bursaries2018@wrseta.org.za
Submit clear copies of the following supporting documentation along with your completed application form (the submission of these documents is compulsory – if any items are missing, your application be disregarded):
- ID document (certified copy)
- Matric Certificate/ Matric results/ NCV Level 4 Certificate (certified copy)
- Grade 9 final results for TVET College students (certified copy)
- Full academic record/ statement of results if available
- Proof of tertiary registration/ admission
- Proof of accommodation if applicable
- Parents/ guardians ID documents (certified copies)
- Parents/ guardians proof of income (employer’s details and latest payslips)
