What is the Rand Water’s Learnership Programme?
- It is a 12-month programme that helps individuals get hands-on experience in the water sector, while also earning a NQF Level 2 qualification.
- The programme aims to develop necessary skills, create employment, and support the water sector in South Africa.

What are the requirements?
- South African citizenship with valid SA ID.
- Matrics with Maths and Physical Science at Level 4.
- Between 18 and 35 years of age.
- Must not be employed, registered in any Learnership Programme, or have a post-matric qualification.
- Must provide the required documents: a certified copy of ID document, a certified copy of Matric Certificate, and Proof of residence.
What are the primary duties?
- As a learner, you must complete the programme within the stipulated period.
- You must also develop knowledge of Rand Water mandate and its contribution to the water sector.

About Rand water
Rand Water is the largest bulk water utility in Africa and one of the largest in the world, providing bulk potable water to over 11 million people across an area that spans over 18,000 km².
Its head office is based in Glenvista, Johannesburg, with two large pumping and purification stations in Vereeniging and Zuikerbosch, four main booster stations at Zwartkopjes, Palmiet, Mapleton, and Eikenhof, and thirteen tertiary pumping stations and 56 enclosed reservoirs.
