What is the learnership programme?
The learnership programme offers a Three-year Artisan Learnership Programme, which includes both classroom and on-the-job training at Mogalakwena Mine.
This program aims to help learners develop their skills and maximize their potential, creating a tailored plan to give them a future to make a difference. Learners will discover their real capability with the help of Anglo American and develop their skills as an Artisan.
What are the qualifications required?
To be eligible for this learnership programme, candidates need to have completed one of the following:
- Matric with Mathematics, Physical Science, and English, all with a minimum 40% pass
- N2 or higher with all subjects as per the specific Discipline Requirements or
- NCV Level – 4 in appropriate trade with all subjects passed with a minimum 40% pass
Additionally, the Trade Test Requirements include:
- A minimum of N2 Subjects/certificate with applicable subjects for the relevant trade as specified
- Mathematics
- Engineering Science
- Relevant Trade Theory
- Industrial Electronics or Engineering Drawings or Plating Structural Drawings
- NCV Level – 4 in an appropriate trade with all subjects passed with a minimum 40% pass
What are the minimum requirements?
To be considered for the learnership programme, applicants need to:
- Be prepared to work on a surface, open-pit, and dusty area.
- Work according to the work schedule of the area and possibly involve working shifts.
- Be a South African Citizen.
- Pass the relevant psychometric assessment.
- Have a medical certificate of fitness or able to obtain one.
- Have good written and verbal communication skills in English.
- Have a valid South African Driver’s license (this is an advantage).
What does the programme offer?
Throughout the Learnership Programme, learners will receive:
- A stipend/allowance per month for the duration of the program
- Free training and experiential learning
- Personal Protective Equipment
When and how to apply?
First preference will be given to relevant applications from host communities in line with our Social and Labour Plan.
All applications must include an updated complete CV with contact number and e-mail address, original certified proof of identification, driver’s license (if you have one), highest school grade certificate, N-qualification certificate, subject certificates (if done at different times), and proof of residence.
Applications without certified copies of qualification/s and proof of residence will not be considered.
Successful candidates will be required to complete background screening, which may include a criminal check and validation of qualifications.
